We would like to start this month with a huge thankyou to our parish council for their contribution from the ‘Solar farm fund’ towards the project’s utilities. We value their support and are looking forward to the project’s future.
I am writing this on a very chilly evening with the end of November approaching rapidly!
It is looking like our Celeriac, carrots, shallots, garlic and purple sprouting broccoli are all on track and will be in time to be packed into our Christmas boxes, however our sprouts are a little behind and are more likely to be harvested in January.
At the moment we are picking the last of our salad leaves and Kale but they will soon be replaced with our cabbages, chard and winter broad beans. Also in the last few days we have peas and garlic just poking their heads above the compost in the polytunnels.
Our volunteer work days continue on Wednesdays, 10am-2pm ish, with hot soup and bread provided at lunchtime. New faces always welcome. We have a range of tasks to suit all abilities.
Our organic fruit and vegetable boxes continue to be delivered on a Wednesday. Our extra special Christmas boxes are to be delivered on Friday 21st December, to be fresh for the following week. For details please get in touch with us.
Our purple roadside stalls are currently full to the brim with mainly our own produce although we are also stocking a small variety from Riverford and also local organic growers.
